Mary McDonnell

 

Mary Eileen McDonnell was born on the 28th of April 1952. She is an American stage screen, film, and television actress. McDonnell was nominated in the Academy Award for her roles in Dances with Wolves as Stands With A Finger and Passion Fish as May-Alice Culhane. McDonnell is best known for her portrayals of First Lady Marilyn Whitmore in Independence Day and President Laura Roslin on Battlestar Galactica. In seasons 5-7, she was featured as Captain Sharon Raydor and in Major Crimes spin-offs on TNT.
